Welcome from the Head

Welcome to the St Elizabeth’s Catholic Voluntary Academy website.

On behalf of the children, staff and governors we would like to warmly welcome you to St Elizabeth’s Catholic Voluntary Academy. We are a small and friendly primary school welcoming children of all faiths, or no faith. We believe every child is special and we keep children at the centre of all we do.

We aim to live out our Mission Statement so that children have a happy, caring and safe environment in order to achieve their full potential. We strive to be a school where children are happy, nurtured and enjoy their learning in a safe and secure environment. We are committed to developing the gifts and talents of every child to enable them to achieve their full potential.

Our children benefit from expansive school fields and grounds, with beautiful views as we are situated in the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. We love taking the opportunity to do our learning outdoors and have a trim trail, willow den, pond and nature area.

Mission Statement:    Be like Jesus. Be your best. Be safe. Be caring.

St Elizabeth’s is situated on Matlock Road overlooking the East Mill in Belper. It is in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the midst of the Derbyshire hills. Pupils come to the school from a very wide area encompassing local towns and villages.

We are very proud of our school and its Catholic Ethos/Franciscan values.  We hope you enjoy reading about it on this website. We welcome you to come and visit us, to see the school for yourself.  Follow us on Twitter.

The News section has the latest information about what’s going on in school. If you have any enquiries please contact Mrs D Hyde in the school office on 01773 822278, or email enquiries@eli.srscmat.co.uk

We hope this website will give you an insight into our school.
