St Elizabeth’s Governance Arrangements
St Elizabeth’s has a local governing body (LGB) which is a sub committee of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust.
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Nottingham has given the following general remit to local governing bodies: “the duty of foundation governors is to act on behalf of the Diocesan Bishop in ensuring the catholic character of the school is preserved and developed”.
In addition to this each LGB is charged with:
- Monitoring the school’s standards (including pupils wider outcomes)
- Being a link between the local and parish community and the academy trusts board of directors
- Overseeing behaviour and attendance matters including dealing with pupils disciplinary matters
- Managing admissions and complaints from parents
